Spirit Paddle (hosted by SPKL: The Society for the Protection of Kalamalka Lake)
– Open to all human powered watercraft
– By Donation to SPKL
– Gather at 5pm, Paddling at 6pm.

The event is in celebration of, and gratitude for the beautiful waters of Kalamalka Lake, drinking water for most of Greater Vernon. Everyone interested is invited to join SPKL  at 5pm on Kal Beach, located at the north end of Kal Lake in Coldstream. Look for SPKL’s blue tent.

The group will depart from Kal Beach and paddle in-and-around the North end of Kalamalka Lake.

What to Bring:
1. A non-motorized watercraft
2. PFD, Lifejacket and other necessary water safety equipment as required by law

KALAMALKA CROSSING  – King/Queen & Open/Recreational Age Classes
Saturday, September 2 (South to North)
A scenic 10-mile trek across the full length of the lake.  Starting in Oyama on Wood Lake, you’ll dash from the beach around a buoy and then through the channel that connects the two lakes heading North towards Kal Beach.  Do it for the exercise, for the challenge, or race it to beat the clock.

Who Should Enter?  You, your friends and anyone who wants to experience the full wonder of Kalamalka Lake.
KEIKI HOLO: Free Kids Race and Mini-Clinic – Short course for Kids, 13 & Under
(Any board 11′ in length or shorter)
Here’s a fun event for the kids – They all leave the beach at the same time and paddle around the inner buoys in shallow area for fun and prizes.  Age Categories: 9 & Under, 10-11, 12-13.

No pre-registration required.  Just show up on the day.

Who Should Enter?  All kids 13 & Under, it’s FREE

New Event for 2017! This is a TEAM stand up paddle board race that will take place after the Keiki Holo Kids Race on Saturday. Paddlers will compete in teams of four on 22 ft stand up paddle boards in head-to-head races with the fastest teams advancing.

** Clarification on the Championship in Barbados ** All teams of four battling it out in the COMPETITIVE DIVISION at the Kalamalka Classic are qualified to race at the DRAGON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS.

Paddlers must register as a team of four in one of two divisions:
Competitive – $60(PRIZE MONEY)
Mixed Bag – $20 (PRIZES AND FUN)

Location: Kalamalka Lake Beach (West Side)

The 22 ft Dragon SUP, paddle, and PFDs will all be provided as part of your registration.
