SATURDAY FESTIVAL EVENTS For all levels of adult and kids
Saturday’s events are always about fun, participation and laughs.  They are run in the following order unless otherwise posted.

Eagle Run SUP Challenge – A 2.8 to 3 Mile (4.8km) paddle at the North end of Kal Lake. Leaving together from the beach, you’ll get into the groove as you paddle a scenic, beginner-friendly course around the North end of the lake.

Who Should Enter?  Ideal for beginner and intermediate paddlers who want to participate in a stress-free, socially competitive environment.  You could think of it as “My first SUP Event” or use it as a warm-up for Sunday’s Kalamalka Crossing.  Either way, its fitness, fun and good times.

Keiki Holo Kids Race (12 years & younger)  Kids will take part in a short race clinic before getting into the action.  Their course is a short, multi-loop course around buoys in the shallow areas.  Age Categories: 9 & Under, 10-12 years.

Who Should Enter? All kids 12 & Under

Inflatable SUP Scramble (open to all inflatable boards 11’6′ and shorter) – This one is an all-play and based on the DNA of the Wikiholo Events from previous years.  Paddlers will ‘scramble’ from the beach and navigate their inflatable board around a short course.  Depending on conditions, the course may be single or multi-lap.  We’ll have extra boards available so don’t stress it if you don’t have one.  The categories are:

  • Junior Boys
  • Junior Girls
  • Open Women – 19-49
  • Open Women – Masters 50+
  • Open Men – 19-49
  • Open Men – Masters 50+
  • Competitive Men – 14′ and shorter
  • Competitive Women – 14′ and shorter

Who Should Enter? Anyone wants to get their feet wet. This one is a crowd favourite and gets everyone involved.  Do it cuz you want to join in the action without a longer commitment… or do it cuz you want to try out your inflatable board. _______________________________________________

2022 CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY (Please read carefully)

Hi paddlers, please ensure that you have fully read and understand the following policy regarding all refunds, transfers, and cancellations.

We strive to provide the best paddleboard experience possible and in doing so, we prepare months in advance. We have successfully hosted nine Kal Classics since 2010 but most recently, we were forced to cancel the 2018 Kal Classic due to extreme weather (forest fire smoke) and again in 2020 & 2021 due to the pandemic. Mother Nature has her own plans so we now have ours to ensure that we can continue hosting the Kal Classic.

Should the 2022 Kalamalka Classic be cancelled or postponed as a result of inclement, adverse or unsafe weather (including but not limited to forest fires, floods, earthquakes, winds, storms) or other events out of our control, we will make every effort to postpone and/or reschedule the race.

If we are forced to postpone and/or reschedule the race, we will make every effort to choose alternate dates that work the best for everyone. We are not able to offer any refunds, credits or transfers/deferrals for any changes.

If due to inclement, adverse or unsafe weather, or any other events out of our control, the event (in whole or part) is cancelled, we are not able to offer any refunds, credits or transfers/deferrals.

General refunds are available until July 21, 2022 at 80% of entry fee

General refunds are available between July 21-July 31 at 50% of entry fee

No refunds available after August 1, 2022. This is the point where we commit to incurring most of the expenses to organize the event.
